3 sets of nozzles, caps, and gaskets come with the TurfWare GCI Turf Spray Boom:
A 7 GPM pump is required for the spray boom to function properly. If you already have the 7 GPM pump on your TurfWare you can use that pump. If you do not have the 7 GPM pump you will need to select the option to add the pump to your purchase.
Why Use A Spray Boom
Although "boomless" spray nozzles are incredible, in my opinion, I feel a spray boom is the most accurate way to apply liquids to turfgrass. I feel you get a much more consistent spray pattern and that also equals better coverage. I have also found that when using a spray boom you have less "mess" on the ends.
What I mean by that is every once in a while (when using boomless nozzles) you will get a stray droplet of material going haywire on the outer edge of the spray pattern. If you are close to a fence or close to a natural area with plants, that stray droplet may come in contact with something other than the turf. Depending on what you are spraying this could lead to staining (fence) or herbicide damage (plant). I have used boomless nozzles for years so I don't want you to think I am throwing those under the bus, I'm not. But, if I had to choose between one or the other, I would choose a spray boom every time.
(COMING SOON) - Another great reason for a spray boom is the ability to add a foam marker. A foam marker is basically going to tell you where you've been and where you're going. On each end of the spray boom, there's a fitting that drops a round droplet of foam. The droplet of foam is used as a "guide" or a "marker". This allows for a super accurate application.
