The Start Your Own Business Pack is exactly what it says...if you are looking to make extra money in the offseason when the grass is dormant or just not growing then this is for you.
There are 6 different combinations to select from. The difference in the packages basically boils down to what sprayer you want and what color paint you want.
The "Fairway" color is the darkest green. The "Premium" color is a little lighter in color. It is recommended by the manufacturer when painting dormant bermudagrass to use the Premium color. The Premium color will look more realistic.
All you need is a Flowzone Sprayer, GCI Edge Buddy, 1 gallon of Spray N Stay, and 3 gallons of paint. Buying these products as a package does save you some money. Once you have that, all that's left is to spread the word that you are painting turf in the offseason.
Spray n Stay is like an adjuvant that will help the paint adhere to the turf. It will also help the paint to be more durable.
One way to charge for this service:
Paint cost x 25% + your hourly rate. You choose what you want to make per hour. Be aware that you will need to research what other companies in your area charge for this same service or similar service. The point of this is that you are competitive.
Example Job:
Paint per gallon $85 x 25% = $106.26 = cost per ounce $.83
Spray N Stay per gallon $49 x 25% = $61.25 = cost per ounce = $.50
4000-square-foot lawn to paint 4 x 8oz (per 500 square feet) = 64oz of paint + 12oz Spray N Stay
64 x $.83 = $53.12 paint cost
12 x $.50 = $6.00 Spray N Stay cost
$40 per hour x 3 hours labor = $120
$120 + $59.12 = $179.12
$179.12 - $47.56 (product cost) = $131.56 profit
Obviously, this example of pricing doesn't include all the costs involved like your overhead, but it will get you close enough so that you can see you can make good money by providing this service.
This is an EXAMPLE so please be diligent in your pricing. In some areas of the country, you can easily charge more than $40 per hour for your labor and I am sure there are some areas you can't.

GCI Turf Edge Buddy:
We source the individual components from different locations around the country. We package the components unassembled for shipping reasons so there is some minor assembly that you will have to do. If we assemble it and then package and ship it the likelihood of it being damaged in transit is much higher. The shipping cost itself would also be higher because it would require a much larger box.
You will get a training video link in the confirmation email you get when you make this purchase. In the video I will show you how to assemble the Edge Buddy and how to calibrate it.
GCI Turf will be closed December 23-27.
Any order placed after 12pm on Friday 12/20 will not be shipped until we return to work on 12/30.
GCI does not guarantee shipping times.
